Gynaecological Surgery

    Minimally invasive, maximum care.

As clinical lead for hysteroscopy at King's College Hospital and King's Fertility, Mr Subramanian specialises in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, treating conditions through key-hole and hysteroscopic techniques wherever possible.

    About this area

    Minimally invasive, maximum care.

Mr Subramanian writing a treatment plan

Hysteroscopic surgery treats polyps, fibroids and adhesions inside the womb without any incision at all. Many procedures can be performed in the outpatient setting, meaning no general anaesthetic and a much faster recovery.

Laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery is used for conditions such as ovarian cysts, endometriosis and pelvic pain, offering smaller scars, less pain and a quicker return to normal life than open surgery.

As the RCOG South London Preceptor for Hysteroscopy, regional lead for training across London, Mr Subramanian teaches these techniques to other surgeons, and brings the same expertise to every operation he performs.

    • Outpatient hysteroscopy

See-and-treat procedures in clinic, without general anaesthetic.

    • Hysteroscopic resection

Removal of fibroids and polyps through the natural route, with no incisions.

    • Laparoscopic surgery

Key-hole surgery for cysts, endometriosis and pelvic pain.

    • Myomectomy

Fibroid removal that preserves the womb and future fertility.

    • Oophorectomy and salpingectomy

Removal of ovaries or fallopian tubes where clinically needed.

    • Adhesion surgery

Division of pelvic and uterine adhesions to restore anatomy.
